Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations

International Day of Non-Violence

The High Commission of India in Seychelles would be celebrating the 148th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on Monday2nd October, 2017.

At 4 .00 pm, floral tributes will be paid to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the premises of the High Commission of India in Victoria, followed by a brief ceremony to be held in the courtyard of the Mission.  After refreshments at the front first floor hall of ICCS,   at 5.00 p.m. a Panel Discussion on ‘Gandhi’s Life and Message: Universal Impact of Social, Political and Economic ideas of Mahatma Gandhi in the Modern world’  will be held at Committee Room No.1 (second floor) of ICCS, Victoria. 

The High Commission has also arranged for a special screening of Richard Attenborough’s acclaimed film ‘GANDHI’ at 3.00 pm on Sunday, 1stOctober, 2017 at Deepam Cinema.

Admission is free and all are cordially invited to attend the special screening of the film on 1st October and participate in the celebrations of the ‘International Day of Non-Violence’ on 2nd October.
